To Die While Alive
The tips of the ever prospering cascades,
Disappearing from my sight,
No longer able to see from this coffin,
The instrument that helped me crawl and wither,
Down to where the worms and maggots live,
Every breathe gets heavier,
My will slowly decaying,
Just like my consciousness,
Regret encompassing once a beating heart,
Lunges cry to be free of this emphysema,
Willingly poisoning myself with doubt,
The toxins flowing through my blood stream,
Insecurity swimming in my veins,
Like a cancer it feeds to grow,
Fidgeting in this hell of desperation,
Every thought encased in death,
Swimming in misery that calls my name,
Tears slither and trickle like a serpent,
Yesterday's past haunts me,
Shadows scoff at my tarnished soul,
Reality is no longer present,
The demon calls me to join him,
Negativity has a face,
Decaying while my life fades away,
Going back to the earth,
Where the choice is mine,
My soul hopes to gain some peace.

Society and Alienation
So what makes it okay for you to judge,
Did you buy into society's insecurities to hold that grudge,
Why won't you stop and try to understand,
People's lives didn't always go the way they'd planned,
Have you ever messed up or let yourself get down,
So where's the sense in your superiority please remove that crown,
We are all equal you and I,
Don't be the reason to make another person cry,
They deserve love just the way you do,
So stick to your morals and act the way you believe is true,
Don't buy into fear and temptation,
To pull another's world apart with hatred and segregation,
So stop before you judge and ask yourself why,
Don't tell yourself you're a good person but then continue living the lie,
Plant that seed of positivity in a loved one or stranger,
Instead of coming at a situation with judgement and anger,
It's not helpful and beneficial to society,
Let's remove the chains of degradation and finally be free!

Growth The Purest Air
Have you ever met someone who changed your world,
Although when you first locked eyes you were unaware of their impact,
You took the time and jumped the hurdles to find out who they were inside,
While jumping their hurdles slowly lowering yours aswell.
Have you ever met someone who made you appreciate life,
Who was just as broken as you and allowed you to feel accepted,
Who you knew saw you for all your mistakes but acknowledged pieces of you that were beautiful,
Who saw your flaws and your successes but inspired you to focus on what was important.
Have you ever met someone who you felt knew your soul,
Like you were meant to meet this person so they could open you up to life itself,
The person who promoted fire and passion in you,
Someone who just by being themselves allowed you to be honest with yourself.
Have you ever met someone who you felt drawn to,
Just by knowing them you wanted to be a better person,
Who allowed you to grow without judging or asking for anything,

The Isolation Bubble
Every day I put my earphones in,
I walk along the path and have a little sing,
It's therapeutic and makes me feel warm inside,
Although I forget to say hello to those who pass my side,
I ignore those moments I used to appreciate,
The social Interactions I used to instigate,
Before the phone I carry everywhere in my hand,
I now stay in my bubble with my head in the sand,
But what am I really missing is there a point to it all,
Have we become a society that's gotten so tall,
Where we can't stop and look a stranger in the eye,
Smile and wish them a friendly good bye,
I took my ear phones out today,
I stopped and heard what people had to say,
I watched an old lady's shoulders rise,
When I left her she had a glint in her eyes,
I could see the beauty I was missing out on,
I took the opportunities before they were gone,
After awhile you get used to not saying hello,
It felt unusual to greet someone I don't know,
I don't want to get transparent and no longer be seen,
For then how would we lear

What Offence Looks Like To A Third Person
Someone comments on a post you are reading on the internet. They have shared an opinion they appear to be passionate about.
The offended person responds in this manner - "You are an uneducated insult, inclusive of multiple curse words. I am so angry that I cannot use correct punctuation or spelling. I would like to alienate you with this next sentence. My beliefs are alternate to yours, which now makes me act in this aggressive manner. You seem to not relate to me and this makes me feel emotional, which is affecting my behaviour. My life experience is different to yours which affects my opinions. I refuse to take this on board however and instead feel you do not accept me. I have chosen to be vulnerable on a public thread, at which every one can now view and place judgement on me. I have now aired my insecurities to the world. Yet, I feel I am making a difference by expressing my opinion in this manner. I have chosen to ignore your right to an opinion because I refuse to see things fro

White Wave
The sun stretches out its light and warmly strokes her face invitingly. She fidgets slightly. Her legs stretch out slowly on the hard wood bench. Every plank feeling like knives in her back. The blanket creeps off her knees sliding it's way down her calves. She blinks tiredly, watching the sun making its way to its rightful place in the sky. A man walks past briskly, he seems to be heading somewhere. That, or her presence makes him uncomfortable, he picks up the pace on being aware of her gaze. She attempts a smile. Before the crease in her lips could complete the socially acceptable greeting, his presence disappears. It was always like this. She didn't know whether it was her appearance or actually who she was, she hadn't spoken with anyone for quite some time. Every time she attempted it, it seemed they had some prior arrangement to rush off to. Sometimes she would speak to herself. Create an alternate universe where she had many friends. Some of them were from different cultures and

My special ones
I'm thankful for the ones in my life,
The ones I rely on when I'm in strife,
The ones who carry me up the hill,
The ones who pay my metaphorical bill,
The ones who always have a friendly smile,
The ones who will sit with me for a while,
The ones who listen when I'm in need,
The ones who catch me up to speed,
The ones I rely on so much,
The ones who offer me their love and such,
The ones who've always been there,
The ones who show me they care.

Lost
She sits in a corner. A part of her mind unconquered, missing someone. She knows all about his dreams, aspirations and wants everything in life to fall into place for him. She's one with her thoughts and her pain. Why did she let him slip through her fingers. She wonders.
His smile pops into her mind like a cool breeze. His hands caressing her. Embracing her Frame. She knows it was fleeting like a sunset. It was so beautiful and then gone in an instant. Now she's left with the darkness. The only light from the moon. A reminder of what she's lost.
Her heart beats fast as she plays a melody. The familiarity of his presence. Of him. The whole entirety of her life has changed now. She's fine. Okay I'm herself, but she misses that warmth. The way she felt when he was hers.
She wonders if he knows the gravity of her decision. If he can feel it too. If he relates to the emptiness. The lack of his presence has created a vortex in her life. She doesn't know how to fix it. Just an empty d

Just a Tree
It's just a tree you might say,
Just a tree that is alive,
That Helps you breathe,
Is a home to many animals,
Could help you get out of bed in the morning,
Go see her in all her beauty,
Sit amongst it,
The real life of purity,
That tree is selfless,
Appreciate the environment,
It's the only one we have.

On Broken Hearts
i understand that it's hard
to open up
when we've been hurt before
but when we heal
we never come back the same
but it's in that change
that we learn
how to love
how to be loved
even the darkest of skies
let light through
and it's that gleaming ray
that guides us
into the arms
of the one
who will show us
that not everything
ends in pain
your happy ending is written in the stars
waiting for you to simply look up

On Loving Oneself
start looking up to yourself
and stop looking to the sky for answers
everything we need to know
comes from within
the moment we decide
to put ourselves first
and love ourselves
and stop doing for our neighbors
what we won't even
do for our self
we will never know love
in someone else
before we know it inside
every negative belief
we have of ourselves
was planted by someone else
and those thoughts
have no effect
if we refuse to believe them
and believe in ourselves instead
because nobody is going to do it for us
imperfection is not a weakness
it is human
and being true to our self
is the best way to overcome

prayer
I pray without belief
because what the hell, it can't hurt
and it feels good to talk to someone
even if it's only my imaginary friend
I pray without expectation
because I don't believe
but I wish it were true
that some form of justice and love was out there
I pray without relief
because my imaginary friend can't fix me
or the world
but it's nice to talk to someone

I Used to Pray
I used to pray, not like the every night before bed type of praying, but I prayed. I was raised and baptized in a Roman Catholic Church, where I used to pray.
I confessed my sins to Father, a priest so-to-say. I told him that I drank water in my bedroom when I wasn’t supposed to; my mom didn’t want the water to spill on the carpet so she forbade it. He asked me why I felt the need to confess this, I told him it was because I felt guilty. He told me that was good.
I used to pray when my mom cried, I prayed when my father left her; truth is I was happy that he did. I would pray that my dad made it home safely from his travels. I prayed for my friends when they had a bad night at home. I would pray for my pets, I hoped they were happy where they were. I would pray after every cuss word I said, asking Him to understand why I had done so. Sooner or later, that became too often to account for.
I would pray whenever I was sad – which was most of the time – but nothing
